AUDIOSTATIC
DCI FULL RANGE ELECTROSTATIC SPEAKERS
Over 30 years of audio innovation
|
|
Since
the
early sixties, in Holland,
when
Ben Peters first designed and
built the Audiostatic loudspeakers incredible progress has
been achieved; resulting in a number of patents for proprietary
design solutions. Right
now, Audiostatic's new WING full
range creations are impressing critical listeners the world
over. Elegantly beautiful objects which clearly convey individual
tastes in music. You
can hear every detail and every sense of atmosphere. Deep
bass can be properly felt. Spatial
positioning is impressively natural. Critical passages played
by the strings, woodwind, let alone voices are reproduced
without a trace of hardness or colouration. Dynamic demands,
from a grand piano for example, will remain absolutely distortion
free. These characteristics, together with bi-directional
radiation of the electrostatic panels, are your guarantee
of hours and hours of listening without fatigue. Almost as
if there were no loudspeakers at all.

| THE
WING |
|

|
The
Wing's DCIŽ interface
(Direct Coupled Interface) allows the audio signal to be
routed from the amplifier to the step-up audio transformers
and the full range electrostatic panel without any filtering
components, like sound degrading capacitors or coils. This
only became possible once a new, special foil element, as
well as a resonant-free 3-layer MDF frame structure had
been developed. The advantages are a much improved impulse
handling, more dynamics and extended frequency range with
more deep bass.
The
Wing's True Line Source
design launches a cylindrical wave front invariant with
frequencies and lays a sound field in the room accordingly.
The result is a uniform distribution of sound with an unvarying
balance and perspective almost anywhere in the room. Since
the sound pressure level from the Audiostatic true line
source design only varies inversely with the distance and
not, like other designs, with the square of the distance,
the intensity of the sound field is amazing, even at a relatively
distant listening position.
The
heart of the WING electrostatic
loudspeakers is an extremely thin and light membrane, with
a thickness of 0.0002362 inch, or 0.006 millimeter. The total
moving mass of an entire WING
membrane is less than the moving mass of only a dome tweeter
in a conventional loudspeaker system. No wonder that it is
capable of the very fast acceleration and deceleration necessary
to keep up with the complexity of the sound source.

FIN |
|
l With
our newly developed streaming wings, called FIN,
the effectiveness of the Audiostatic WING
is considerably increased.
l
Room
coupling is improved, as is the frequency response.
l Room
placement has become even easier now.
l
The fins have to be mounted on the backside of the Audiostatics
l Former
DCI, ES 100 and ES 300 series
also can be upgraded with FIN
